I requested estimates for the timbers and 2×6 tongue and groove decking from
Ryan Wholesale and
McCoys. I also requested an estimate for just the decking from
Wamplers in Bastrop. Ryan Wholesale and McCoys both supply Douglas Fir. A friend of mine with a lot of timber framing experience highly recommended Ryan Wholesale. McCoys supplied the timbers for the Community Table project I volunteered on. Wamplers only has eastern red cedar which my timber framing friend advised against me using for the structural timbers as the wood has lots of knots. Here’s my list:
